PURPOSE OF ORGANIZATION 

Our purpose is to provide technology coaching service to all Not for Profit organizations 
in the Campbell River area. Most NFP’s do not have the budget for this computer 
service. 
Our MISSION: To EMPOWER & INSPIRE the Not-For-Profit community to champion 
their computer solutions by offering supportive coaching, providing resources and 
sharing our knowledge. 

VOLUNTEER POSITION TITLE Technology Coach 

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION 

Using the Island Tech-Ease (ITE) database and retrieving phone and email messages, the 
volunteer tech coach will respond to requests for assistance and coaching when the 
need arises. The database would need to be kept up to date, as well as any 
correspondence and visits conducted would be filed into project binders. 

HOW MANY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: 3-4 people. 

VOLUNTEER COMMITMENT REQUIRED 

2-4 hours a week , mostly daytime but possible evening – flexibility is preferred. 

THE VOLUNTEER WILL WORK WITH 

Non Profit organizations 

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED 

Hobby technicians, interest and experience doing basic computer maintenance and 
enjoy working with people. Please, have a great sense of humour! 

TRAINING AND ORIENTATION 

8-10 hours (over a period of 2-3 weeks) of training/orientation that includes reading and 
reviewing the manual and going on visits with the current tech coaches. 

PREREQUISITES TO VOLUNTEERING (such as RCMP Check, References, Over 18 years of age) 

RCMP check, proven previous computer background
